Futuras perspectivas de la educación moral

Resumen

España es un país con una larga y sólida tradición en educación moral. Veamos un ejemplo: Interpreto Don Quijote de Cervantes como una obra en la que los sentimientos de justicia de Don Quijote prevalecen frente a la ética del cuidado de Sancho Panza, pero ambas perspectivas de la vida tienen sus debilidades y se definen muy bien mediante sentencias del tipo «no actuar así» (moralidad negativa). El desarrollo de la alfabetización moral mediante el estudio de personajes de historias es quizás una de las formas de educación moral practicadas en este país que mayor reto intelectual presentan. Creo que la narrativa es muy provechosa porque los personajes y sus experiencias afectan de forma directa nuestras emociones.

Fritz Oser, Instituto Pedagógico de la Universidad de Friburgo (Suiza)

Catedrático de Pedagogía y Psicología de la Educación y director del Instituto Pedagógico de la Universidad de Friburgo (Suiza). Doctor en Filosofía, trabajó en Harvard Graduate School of Education donde colaboró con Lawrence Kohlberg; actualmente becario del Institute for Advanced Study (Berlín). Doctor Honoris Causa en 1987 en Teología por la Universidad de Maguncia (Alemania).
