Initial Vocational Qualification Programmes in the Murcia autonomous community: Equitable distribution?

Abstract

This paper presents the results of an investigation conducted to know, among others dimensions, the distribution of Initial Vocational Qualification Programmes in a Spanish autonomous community. Found results show as only a demographic criterion (percentage of school population) has taken into account in this cast, without attending to other possible criteria that might be more consistent with a fair share of attention to the needs of students in situation of vulnerability and/or risk of educational and social exclusion. Consequently the authors suggest the need to address other possible criteria that could be more consistent with a fair attention to the needs of some vulnerable students and / or at risk of educational and social exclusion.
