teacher formation in the American Southern ConeAbstract
This article consists of a comparative study of teacher formation public policies in Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay in order to ascertain how those countries are formulating and implementing these policies in recent decades, as well as investigate the establishment of their national systems of teacher formation. To do so, a bibliographic survey and analysis of documents dealing with the subject took place. The study allowed us to understand that even though these countries belong to a same geographic – American Southern Cone - sub-region, they have different historical processes, with their own subjects and contexts, and therefore experienced distinct educational movements
