The evaluation of learning which takes place within Virtual Teaching Settings is a clear referent and a growing concern for university faculty. This article offers a context for reflection within which these settings can be understood without neglecting the instructors’ need to investigate her/his own teaching and the problems generated by the inclusion of Information and Communication Technologies in teaching.
