The reality of the elderly to the Information Technology and Communication

Abstract

For several decades, Information Technology and Communication have been huge changes in all dimensions of our society: education, work, leisure, education, health, etc.., So that your application has gained great importance and where one that does not fit and go parallel with these changes hardly achieve full integration in this technological society. In a group such as the elderly, which has become in recent years a high rate of growth, forming the majority of our population, we consider essential to study the situation. This research study aims to present the situation in which older adults are in terms of access, knowledge, use, interest and motivation for the new technologies. To do this, we conducted a methodological triangulation between methods, combining quantitative and qualitative methods. According to the results achieved, there is need to expand the training and resources offered to this group as well as working a change in attitude towards these tools.
