Homophobia leves in future teachers: a question for rights, mental health and education

The homophobia is one of the principal reasons of discrimination inside educational centers.
The lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual student body (in forward lgbt) suffers a type of specific harassment that is translated, amongst other questions, in major percentages of suicides and mental disorders.
This situation known by the scientific community has derived in several countries as in Ecuador in political educational for the eradication of the homophobia through legislations and study plans stablished for it.
From this perspective, it would turn out to be lawful to appear if these new educational policies are managing to form new generations of teachers in order that they could attend to the diversity affectively and sexually existing in the schools and institutes.
With the intention of giving response to this question, they present the results of an investigation that valued the levels of homofobia of the Ecuatorian professorship.
The sample was constituted by 465 future teachers (n = 465) that were in the last course of Teaching degree. For the evaluation there was designed a questionnaire that later was validate through a commission of experts and a pilot study.
In the present paper the results obtained are exposed, as well as the possible discussions that of them could be extracted.
