Abstract

Competences-based assessment is a process of gathering evidences (through learning activities) and the formulation of valuations on the extent and nature of the student’s progress, according to some expected learning outcomes. The Competences-based Assessment in Elementary Education degree, taught at the Faculty of Teacher Training at the University of Extremadura, is governed by a series of quality criteria to guide all activities evaluated of the apprenticeships. The application of these quality approaches demands the design of evaluation instruments that can define with rigor and clarity the sub-competitions and indicators of the competitions implied in the grade. In the light of the limitations identified in their pre-deployment through spreadsheets, proposes the use of the learning management system Moodle and of headings for the competency evaluation. With these tools we satisfy two requirements: (a) centralization and access to information for evaluation by teachers and students, and (b) significant improvement in the communication of the evaluation competency to students of the degree.
