Abstract

The main objective of this work is to understand the behavior of using a system of academic management in a University in relation to the tools to support teaching activities. The survey is a census, includes all teachers of undergraduate and postgraduate students in the periods 2010.2 and 2011.1. We used cluster analysis to separate the elements in the groups that use more or less. Regarding the age of teachers has been that teachers with up to 37 years account for 32.7% and that teachers above 56 years accounted for 23%, which shows that teachers who work in graduate are in their most younger. Regarding the time of institution of teaching, which has 32.7% in the institution are less than three years, and 23.2% are in the institution over 22 years. Regarding the tools that are used by these teachers has been the tool of class topics, is representing the highest usage. The second most used tool is the posting of files. The forum tool was rarely used during the study period. It is hoped that with this study, managers can direct actions to improve and expand the use of this environment by teachers.
