University as a landscape. Analysis of an Argentine university linguistic landscape

This paper explores the display of official and private linguistic productions in the circulation spaces of one of the academic units of Universidad Nacional del Sur, an Argentine public higher education institution. This study falls within the second of two branches in which the intersection between linguistic landscape and education has been approached, the first being oriented towards the use of data from this landscape for linguistic education. Within the framework of the branch that analyzes the linguistic landscape displayed in education institutions themselves, the research aims to contribute to the study of the university linguistic landscape, positioning itself as a pioneering approach to such a landscape in Argentina. The paper analyzes how the visibility and prominence of the recorded productions have been sought, from official communications to handwritten interventions responding to previously displayed messages. Finally, it also examines the choice of language involved in the various productions.
