Abstract

he goal of this paper is to establish the most important impacts, negative and positive, on the Brazilian educational reforms of the past twenty years, and on the subsequent public policies. For this purpose, it addresses the concept of «globalization» or «globalizations», and also critically describes and analyzes the historic scenario in which, concretely, this confrontation takes place in Brazilian contemporary social conformation. It also examines the specificity of the concept in Latin America and in Brazil, with its negative political connotation, highlighting the «planetization» as an alternative globalization.
