Abstract

School is recognized as an environment that promotes children's mental health. School can teach emotional and social skills that children need to cope contingencies. This article describes researches on how stimulation of emotional regulation, positive emotions and skills in interpersonal problem solving, improve children’s behavior and academic performance. A school program that is taking place in Argentina at schools whose populations are under the poverty line, it’s analyzed. Conclusion is that emotional education needs to be integrated to formal curriculum from early stages of education.
