Barreiras para a sustentabilidade integral na Universidade

Resumo


Durante 2015, ocorreram eventos importantes para a promoção do Desenvolvimento Sustentável em nível internacional, tais como a Declaração de Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS), a Conferência das Nações Unidas (ONU) sobre Mudanças Climáticas COP 21 e a publicação da encíclica do Papa Francisco Laudato sí, dirigida a todos as pessoas de boa vontade, sobre ecologia integral, incitando à conversão ecológica.
Passados 25 anos, desde a Declaração de Talloires até o presente, foram feitas alterações na implantação e promoção da sustentabilidade, principalmente na dimensão econômica e ambiental em muitas universidades, mas houve menos progressos na dimensão social e na integração de todas elas. Há ainda muitas lacunas no currículo e muitas dificuldades por parte das instituições e dos seus membros para que a promoção do Desenvolvimento Sustentável seja uma realidade no Ensino Superior. Sugerimos introduzir as alterações necessárias para que a sustentabilidade se integre em todos os cursos universitários e para que o funcionamento da assimilação universitária seja um exemplo de sustentabilidade ambiental.
A partir de entrevistas feitas com membros da Comunidade Universitária e do processo participativo do Plano Estratégico de sustentabilidade integral realizado em nossa Universidade, analisamos quais são as possíveis barreiras no ensino superior que impedem a realização de tais mudanças, e sugerimos algumas propostas para poder superá-las e impulsionar a sustentabilidade na Universidade.
