Abstract

In recent years several international organizations have recognized the importance of supporting early childhood development holistically and educational research has not been immune to this trend. However until now it has focused almost exclusively on knowing the adult perspective about childhood and children’s voice has been virtually excluded. Children are experts in their lives and are the most familiar with their interests and needs to establish itself as the protagonists of their lives. According to the concept of socially active child who builds their interactions with peers and adults with whom he or she lives we can expand the understanding we have about children in their socialization and learning processes. This work shows that the mosaic approach is a productive way to learn and to include the perspective of children in the research process regarding school environments in which they participate. It also constitutes an encouragement to imagine creative ways to reach their life experiences.
