Civic, religious and psychological: spectra of moralizing in the public schools of São Paulo (1948-1978)

This work seeks to understand how historically have been configured and deployed the practices and representations of moralizing in São Paulo public school in a period that comprises the democratization of education opportunities and that altered the school model that was kept from the Republican era. To rule the masses and manage diversity within the educational institutions during the expansion of education, take each one to govern itself an important element for the very existence of the democratization of access to education. The chosen sources, didactic manuals, magazines and the legislation in force in the period, allowed to know better the speeches delivered and rules regarding conduct in schools. Throughout the examination of the sources, it was possible to notice that were diverse and their moralizing justification was based upon various speeches, which were the three main axes: psychological, religious and civic matters.
