Self-study is a research discipline, which systematically studies how teacher educators analyze their own practices, with the ultimate intention of having a rigorous awareness of what they do, in order to improve their profession as well as produce knowledge of the teaching discipline. The self-study research processes are carried out by the trainers of trainers, who raise questions about their teaching practices, arising from the daily life of the classroom. The problems that emerge from these practices is what motivates the trainer of trainers to investigate them, contrast them with other trainers who live similar processes, allowing through the development of a reflexive process to critically look at the usual ways of assuming the formative work of the formators, challenging different modes of action.
