This paper analyzes a spectrum of answers to the critical diagnose of Argentinean education. It builds a typology of alternatives for educational improvement, stressing the importance of experiences which articulate public and private initiatives. These are classified into four types, according to two main variables: financing and technical capacity. These functions can be assigned to both private and public actors. We will track, analyze and identify distinctive traits of these articulating strategies and we will describe the general characteristics of the “Schools of the Bicentennial” project, which combines elements from different types of strategies, establishing a combined institutional type. This case study has a meaningful value, since it presents a way to effectively attend the educative problems of the Latin American region.
