The analysis considered the 169 pages of the book, in addition to its paratextual elements. Main results: (a) the book was structured in five parts, being an initial part, three chapters and a final part, all substantiated by 89 references; (b) it is the first work to carry out, in Brazil, a historical and critical survey of the production on corporeality and Physical Education and its repercussion in the school context; (c) Pacheco Neto's analysis considered a time frame of 36 years (1980 – 2016); (d) the work alerts to the biologicism, sportivism and competitive that still anchor pedagogical practices propagated in many Brazilian schools; and (e) the manuscript is aimed at Physical Education and Sports professionals who are dedicated to humanizing, embodied in the corporeality framework, body movement practices in all stages of Education, and also outside the formal teaching environment .
