Abstract

This paper has the aim to verify which place deaf people occupy in children’s literature published in Brazil and Spain related to the thematic field of Physical Education. To reach this aim, the content analysis technique was employed. The object of study was constituted of two corpora of children’s books. In relation to the results, the analysis employed indicated that the authors, the illustrators and the publishing houses did not include deaf characters in the plot of children’s stories, as well as poetries, in the 150 books published in both countries.
