O estudo da paisagem linguística, definida como a utilização dos signos da linguagem em espaços públicos, tem tido um desenvolvimento significativo nos últimos anos. A investigação nesta área está relacionada com diversas disciplinas como a linguística, psicologia, economia, história, geografia urbana e educação. Este artigo oferece uma perspectiva geral sobre o estudo da paisagem linguística no contexto educacional. Primeiro, examina a definição, o escopo e a metodologia da pesquisa da paisagem linguística. Abaixo, explore as principais tendências neste campo relacionadas à educação. A paisagem linguística em espaços públicos serve como um recurso valioso para a aprendizagem de línguas, proporcionando um input autêntico. Além disso, promove a consciência crítica sobre as línguas e as desigualdades sociais. Nas escolas, a paisagem linguística tem características únicas e gera diversas funções.
