Microcredentials have emerged not only as a complement to higher education, but also as a strategic tool for addressing the educational and labor market challenges of the future. The special issue we are presenting, coordinated by Vanja Gutović of the UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNESCO IESALC), brings together reflections and studies that analyze the potential of microcredentials as instruments of pedagogical transformation in Ibero-America.
